Where was it found? Traffic stop? Did he try to use it somewhere and have it confiscated? |
Me too. I had a really bad one by the time I was 15. Of course the drinking age was younger then. |
Yes, traffic stop. He was the passenger in a car that was stopped for speeding and then searched. |
I lot of you have a hard time wrapping your heads around the fact that some kids have zero interest in drinking alcohol <21 or smoking. Crazy, I know! |
I’m from NY and had one from when I was 17. Everyone I knew did because we wanted to go to clubs. All of our parents knew and no one cared. It was common to get a replacement license for a younger sibling if you looked enough alike. I did that for my sister when I turned 18 so she could go to clubs and again when I turned 21. Clubs would let you in at 18 and mark you under. I’m a responsible adult now. All of my friends grew up to be responsible adults. |
Yes. Both my kids have 2. When you buy it you get 2, which I feel bad telling you guys since I think you will search your kids rooms to find 2.
I don't think it's a big deal, along the lines of driving 45 in a 35. Also, it's not a felony. Using somebody's real ID is identity theft, but a fake is not. |
It definitely is different per state and per town/city. Every college town is different. |
Wait, how do you even get a fake ID? I've wanted to know since I was 15, and now I'm 46. |
My sister ordered hers online. It shipped from China. |
Back in the 90s in the NY, the coating was different. We changed the date with oil pencils then covered in hair spray. It was a form of art! |
Times have changed. |
Both my kids had them in college, and told me. I didn’t worry too much because I knew they weren’t big drinkers. They’re both of age now and rarely drink at all. |
My kid is not perfect and does plenty of stuff that he shouldn't do that we have frank conversations about. . He just doesn't happen to have his own fake ID. If you have enough friends with them, you don't really need one. It's not like he's trying to get into a bar during a pandemic. |
Yes, so he can vote. |
Once in college, I leave that stuff alone. |
