Public was not opening under any circumstances due to the unions. As a public school parent, I couldn’t be happier with this decision. It was completely unfair to public school children that private school children may have gotten an even better than they already get experience while public school children fall even further behind. This really helps to prevent that

Why are you on here? Float somewhere else. Don’t deluded yourself MCPS is on par with private school instruction.

Reading comprehension. I made clear in my post that it has never been “on par” - my concern was with widening the inequity. And I am here because I grew up in private schools and will be sending my kids to one in a couple years.

Believe so. Our private school HOS has sent a couple emails and appears really excited about the recent development toward full DL. I am sure he has been heavily pressured by teachers to go virtual and this gives him an excuse to the parents.

Dr. Fauci just testified today the kids should be back in school.

There is nothing exciting about DL. It’s just tragic our children are a political football. Just shameful.

I hope everyone is still planning to pay their full tuition this year. We owe it to keep our teachers and schools thriving! I for one am very happy to know that my DD will have DL from a private school, not some random public school! Worth its weight in gold

I am ready to march. All the work the privates have done is just down the toilet. For what? There are more kids sick with flu. The adult plan is terrific. This is just about keeping privates in check. Why not encourage the public’s to open rather than holding back private. Thank you teachers union for yet again hurting education and these I blame teachers union. This is sad.

You notice there is no benchmark that they use for reopening. It’s just, your closed until x date when I will revisit it.

Parents should rise up.

Yeah, does that mean Shining Stars & badlands can’t run their DL fall camp? Or are they not a private school so they can just run with things? I’d think that would be a lot less safe than a private school.

I don’t blame our school. I blame radical left. I do expect our school to fight to open though. This closure is not based on any science. Zero. We love our teachers and know they weren’t part of this. They wasted their summer putting together a plan.

Who is this county officer? How much sway do they hold in md? What authority? Is she upstaging cdc guidelines? What does hogan think of this??

Hmmm. What does SFS do with one campus in MoCo and the other in DC?!? I can’t see the other DC privates opening if SFS doesn’t. And fwiw I’m a cathedral schools parent.
