I actually live in one of those neighborhoods that had lots of things boarded up and nothing is boarded up anymore. |
Yes, we are fortunate that Muriel for the most part has listened to public health authorities and is not in the business of fealty to Trump. On the other hand, she's a terrible mayor who is only good at enacting empty platitudes such as pretending to pursue Vision Zero and painting messages on the street. |
| I'll take Bowser over idiots like Desantis and Kemp. |
She just gives in to whoever complains the most. |
That’s the thing — the coronavirus statistics in DC are fantastic. People act like they’re living in Florida but our positivity rate is among the lowest in the nation. |
Half of Georgetown is not boarded up. |
| I can't stand her, but I actually think she's been pretty good on this one. |
Low bar |
| Why isn't DC updating the charts on the data site? Everything seems to have stopped two weeks ago. |
Some people are overjoyed when a black person is simply marginally less incompetent than a less than mediocre white person. They don't expect excellence yet accuse others of being racist. |
Guys, schools in the south, west and Midwest all started in person yesterday. A few big urban, county run public districts with strong teacher unions did not. Most, if not all parochial schools and independent academies/schools started in person for elementary kids and at least hybrid for MS and HS. District run public schools starting in person as well, but asking for money money money first. Their plans are excellent and posted publicly. If you don’t want to attend you do a virtual option, possibly clubbed up with other schools since the interest was less than 10-20%. Meanwhile DC area, with excellent low metrics beyond acceptable for in person by NIH, CdC, WHO, Fauci, and other countries’ thresholds for school, is not planning or providing anything and is playing games with taxpayers, students and families. Shame on them. Many parents, well aware of what is actually happening in schools in the real world, are not impressed whatsoever with the dirty politics in DC and MoCo, or the private schools (Or teachers) catering to them. If this keeps up all goodwill will be lost beyond repair. |
Whole office district has been boarded up for months, graffiti remains. |
Prob because DC Covid positivity rates dropped below 3% and she needs to introduce some phony new fake metric again to bully public and private schools to stay closed. |
All of these people ranting "DC is all boarded up!" actually live in Fairfax. |
What is the "office district?". I've been in Dupont, west end, city center, golden triangle multiple times in last month almost nothing is boarded up |
