nah, I'm just on the sideline, I have no team role to flaunt over the parents, no pseudo authority to try an enforce, no insecurities about my kid to use team jobs to curry favor.

I’m grateful for the team managers we have had on several teams. They didn’t need to curry favors for their kids. Basically somebody had to do it or the team wouldn’t function.

OP here. Thanks for the supportive comments. The PP doesn’t bother me. Anything is better than nightmare mom.

Who are you people who are dumping on the OP. How are you not sympathetic to anyone who has to deal with a parent like the nightmarish one described? If you have ever been a team manager or teacher, the OP’s reports should sound sadly familiar to you. The Uber rating idea is fabulous!

OP, can we have Chapters 1-3? Also, are you considering giving the manager of the team where they are going a heads up? We are still grateful for the intervention (many years ago) of acquaintanceS who warned us to never agree to carpool with a new family on our team who lived pretty close to us. They were notorious for weaseling out of almost all of their driving duties, and that’s exactly what the families foolhardy enough to ignore the warnings had to deal with.

Because some parents as well as managers can be the worst. There really is no reason to post here about the affairs of your team or the actions of parents on the team either. While the story is a bit sensational it is still gossip. And gossip is the currency of the team manager. They like to seed information among chosen parents, discredit some and sew discontent about other parents.

That this thread exists is an example of a team manager who believes they are above it all.
