There will be tens of thousands of new cases in the next couple weeks to come, assuming we weren’t being lied to the whole time about how contagious COVID is.

We need to go back to SAH/Shelter In Place immediately

MD numbers have continued to go down.

The number of cases does not matter. All that matters is hospital utilization. If hospitals are not full then we should be open. Do you not remember "flatten the curve"? That was never about preventing infections, it was about spreading infections over a longer period of time so hospitals are not overwhelmed. We need to open.

The number of cases is related to the number of hospitalizations.

Not really. In MD, hospitalizations have been going down more than one would expect because cases have begun to skew younger.

I think gyms should probably be the last thing to reopen, given the evidence about increased transmission when people sing, yell, or engage in aerobic activity (heavy breathing). Yoga would be okay and maybe weight-lifting (except the grunters!) but people running on treadmills and doing zumba is a bad idea.

I agree, but actually Elrich made clear in his last announcement that we are still under a stay at home order.

But protesting- for CERTAIN things - is ok, right?

I mean, protesting to have things reopen is deadly.

But protesting cops is totally healthy, right?

We couldn’t possibly be under a SAH order. Did you see all the protests? Those people wouldn’t all be scofflaws, would they?

LOL

What asshats.

Hey! They just learned of this whole "pandemic" thing last week! It's not like they had 6 months to prepare or anything.

No way I'm ever voting for Elrich. He's like the Trump of MoCo when it comes to ability to lead and manage, even if their politics are totally opposite.

In case people haven’t heard, Hogan is implementing more Phase 2 things, including provisions for gyms to open, indoor rec places like arcades, more pool capacity, etc.

Follow Hogan’s spokesperson, Kata Hall, on Twitter for all the details and a link to the amended executive order.

MoCo falls ever further behind.

Except that we're not. Read his executive order. There's no stay-at-home order in it anymore.

They did a study and found evidence that the virus may have been circulating in Wuhan last August.

Well that puts the final nail in the coffin for the “it came from a bat” smokescreen. Because bats aren’t hibernating in August, and therefore aren’t on the menu at the markets, since “bat season” is only during the winter, when they can be hunted and collected while sleeping through hibernation.

Then he should stop putting it in his emails!!!! Are he and his staff just that stupid? I don’t have time to read every executive order, but I read his email updates.
