Are salads really that bad for you?

Mmmmm I want a Chick-fil-A southwest salad right now.

The problem with salad is that it is a really inefficient way to eat your vegetables. If I sautee 4 cups of spinach I can eat that in a few bites. I probably couldn't eat the same amount raw.

Sometime people say " I eat a 2 salads a day and can't lose weight" or " I went out for dinner but only had a salad." The issue is in what the salad may contain. Some restaurant salads can have more calories than the burger. What is in that salad matters.

People are telling the OP to avoid carrots because of starch and calories.

Come on.
Right! I read that and thought WTH.

Spinach, tomatoes, cucumber, onion, red cabbage, boiled egg, corn, edamame, chickpeas, half an avocado, and moderate pumpkin seeds is my go to.

I always get dressing on the side. Every few bites, I dip my fork in it and then grab some salad. Really cuts down on calories and I get the flavor still.
