Any word on AP exams?

Really wish College Board had had the sense to cancel these altogether. It is a hot mess.

My daughter cancelled her 3 exam registrations. Gc is arranging refunds. She isn’t going to a school that cares whether she takes them Sr. Year.

APs are about getting the credit not about admissions. My kids have found AP credit valuable in college even for things like getting a better housing lottery slot. Also, one has been able to make tough engineering semesters easier by taking 1 less class. GPA booster.

On a scale of 1 to 20 maybe.

No, Silly. APs are scored out of 5.

How are they scored? My DD showed me a scoring rubric that showed 7 points possible. How does that translate to 1-5?

Do a little research. APs have various scoring rubrics, but all result in a final score of 1-5. The PP above was joking about the score of 5, because APs are graded during the summer. Go to apcentral.collegeboard to understand AP exams.

APs are for credit, but they are absolutely about admissions as well.

DS did his physics APs yesterday, and (surprisingly) everything went smoothly on his end.

We were expecting server disasters on the CB end, to be honest, and I told him if he didn't want to do them at all it was A-OK by me. Odds are good he's going to take those classes again in college regardless.

I’m the one who posted that my dd decided not to take the exams. She is a senior and her college didn’t care if she took the exams senior year.

DC was to take a math exam today and the server crashed when they tried to upload the photo.

They couldn't "go back" and missed the first questions.

What a waste.

The scores are not required on the common aop..sure it helps to show on your transcript but no idea why that poster would not go for the credit in 3 classes.

NSL went fine yesterday.

Tons of people tweeting at the AP twitter feed linked above that they can't get on the server. Posting pictures of the error messages on their computer screen.

This is for APHUG, by the way.

Mine took BC Calc today and did the same, without any issues. Her school had them practice this beforehand so she was comfortable with it.

My son too! This is insane, how can they expect them to read 5 articles and write an essay in 45 minutes.

Same today with AB Calc

Another fine BC Calc today. Handwritten answer, took a photo, emailed it to himself and uploaded it without a hitch.

AP Gov yesterday also fine.

AP lit up tomorrow.

Who makes these schedules? Seems like seniors APs are very, very front loaded. AP Lit, Gov, and Calc are some of the most common FCPS senior APs. They can’t throw a day of music theory or Chinese or Art history in there?
