Not sure I care right now that my kid is smoking weed

My 20 year old college son is smoking pot. He is supposed to be finishing his on-line classes for the semester. He has dropped one he was about to flunk. He may have to drop another. And he is being the biggest asshole. I wished it mellowed him out some.

I don’t think picking your battles is the same as being cold

Okay, well underage drinking and smoking weed in my house is a battle I still pick.

Some people pick scabs some don’t.

No family history of any psychiatric disorders at all. A really promising life completely down the drain. Heartbreaking.

Wow you sound like a real scientist!

You have no idea what he was doing he could have easily hit his head or eaten bad meat w a parasite.

He had very good medical care and was tested for everything. He's been this way for decades now.

Of course, schizophrenia usually manifests in males in their late teens or early twenties. And he could have been smoking pot to cope with initial presentation.

Have you heard of correlation?

That doesn't sound like weed it sounds like he got a bug

A bug??? A bug that's completely unknown to the medical community that affected just this one teen living a normal life (no off the beaten track adventures at all), did not affect anyone else, relatively sudden onset of paranoia, and he did not get better or worse over decades?

Sure. Or, it could have just been the weed, since there's at least some evidence for that...

+1,000 LOL. PP is an absolutely idiot!

Right, meat, something he consumes everyday from different animals multiple times could never contribute to a problem he had... yet weeds he did ONE time is the cause of all his problems. You make no sense are sound like you're just trying to push an agenda.

Where did you go to medical school? Or should we trust you cause you are a drug addict or something?

One person who smokes marijuana and becomes mentally ill doesn’t really add to the conversation. How many people who become ill have used alcohol, perhaps significantly. And yes, it’s very likely that people with underlying mental health issues seek out marijuana (or alcohol for that matter).

I am not a big fan of weed but it’s also never worked for me. I accept that for some people it does. I also would rather be around smokers than drunks.

Uhhh do you pay for your son's college?? There are a lot of issues I'd be worried about here. He is in your house, lay down some ground rules like, don't be a jerk and do your school work that we pay for. Or he can head out and rent an apartment because he's an adult.
