I just received this as part of a message from the St. James. If you need child care during these hours and are near there this could be a good option.
"Additionally, in an effort to support our community of hard-working families, we are offering daily camps from 9 a.m. - 4 p.m. Monday-Friday for healthy children who require childcare during school closings. We recognize that this unplanned childcare places a financial burden on many families, and financial assistance is available for daily camps, if needed." |

| DH is a doctor (works at a hospital) and I work in a job where telework is not possible. We have no local family. I told my job I had to take a leave of absence for however long the schools are closed to stay home full-time and homeschool. |

| My husband will either telework or take vacation since I have to work at the hospital. Luckily we don’t have to worry about childcare. I’m more worried about infecting my family as my husband is high risk. He wants me to quit, but I can’t imagine doing that. I can’t self isolate since my husband can’t take care of our toddler for long periods of time. |

It will and we are. She’s been with us for 3.5 years and I trust her and her husband. They’re in good hands. We’re very blessed this is an option for us. |

| There was a heart wrenching story in The NY Times about the 29 year old female doctor in Wuhan who died of the virus. Her husband is also a doctor in another hospital. Her son has been waiting with his grandmother for months for his parents to come home. The little boy thinks his mother, like his dad, is still working and will come home soon. |

No one should be paying for help - that’s the point of social distancing and why the kids are home. Not only are doctors and nurses forced to work - they are forced to work in an environment where the sick people with the highly contagious virus go! |

| My brother and his wife are both doctors in a hospital. One is in pediatrics and the other in oncology. Today my brother is driving his two girls to his wife’s sisters house in Illinois. It’s so sad!! My grandmother used to talk about sending the children out to the countryside during WWII to get out of London. While no where close to being as deadly as the shelling in London, I’m sure it feels the same to my little nieces. |

I am a healthcare worker with a 2 year old daughter. This is what I signed up for and I'm glad to do my part.
DD's daycare is still open. I'll make alternative arrangements when I need to |

Don’t ask SAHM’s they are super sensitive to being asked to watch other people’s kids. Ask a working mom that is teleworking or a teen who is out of school. |

I think they are supposed to stay away from health care workers actually. It would be OK for the kids to self isolate with the grandparents and the parents live at the hospital though. |

In China, drs and nurses often stayed in motels near the hospital (I’m sure the state paid for the rooms) to be separate from their family. |

| There are a ton of high school and college kids looking for something to do and ways to earn money. Definitely ask your neighbors! |
