I don't think anyone would recommend Jefferson. yes, you will get some boosters about how its "changing" but the school body is overwhelmingly high poverty and underperforming. Brent elem feeds to Jefferson and if they send more than 5 kids out of 5th grade to Jefferson I would be surprised.

I am a Jefferson teacher (and also a DCPS parent) and YES there are more than 5 Brent families here.

High income families from Brent? Doubt it. And would you send your own kid there if you had other options?

Ummm yes. There are more than a dozen such Brent families at Jefferson now.

Not per grade. Maybe a dozen total in all three grades (6-8).

So tell me, exactly how many Brent families do you need at Jefferson in order to be convinced the school is acceptable to you?

Why do you trust their judgment more than your own?

How many UMC families choose jefferson, if they have choices. Jefferson is no way comparable to Latin, Deal, SH or Basis.
