Yep, that makes sense, pp.
But gives absolutely no insight or information, unfortunately.

Of course, the same could be said of this comment. However, restricting conversation to statements that impart useful information would greatly stunt communication, so please regard this not as criticism, but as continuation of the dialog (in which context I would give myself a C+).
I think it is a very appropriate comment. In school, you get an incomplete when a key assignment isn't turned in. This is exactly where we are. A lot of work is in progress, but most of it hasn't come to conclusion. For that reason it is perfectly sensible to say we don't have enough data to provide the grade. We could try to grade his policy on Iraq, but the proof is in what happens when the troops come out. The same could be said of the economy, health care plan (although this is pretty close to baked), Afghanistan, etc.
I shouldn't belabor this, especially since I was mostly joking around earlier, but you only get an incomplete if you have not completed the work at the END of the term.

The reason I commented about it the first time is that his job is so obviously incomplete that it's not worth saying it. My addendum (grading myself) was an admission that it was silly of me to respond. And this time it's silly enough that I give myself an F for self-indulgence.

Richard Reid was detained and questioned the day before he was let on a plane to attempt his shoe bombing. So that was the benchmark set by the last administration.

Didn't Obama promise us "change"--wasn't that supposed to be change for the better? If so, you can't defend mistakes made by his administration by saying that the Bush administration was just as bad. And for the love of god, can he please wear a TIE when he does a formal planned news conference?

When Kennedy went bare-headed at his inauguration he freed men from those those silly fedoras. I hate ties -- thank you Barack!

You are worried about a tie? At least he's doing press conferences. Georgie set the all time low there...

I disliked GWB as much as anyone, but I suggest we try to avoid responding to criticism of Obama by pointing out that Bush was worse. We who support Obama should give his opponents the respect of responding to the criticism by either pointing out where it is wrong or acknowledging where it is correct.

Conversely, I think Obama's opponents, sometimes jump too quickly at the chance to criticize him. If the criticism were given more judiciously, it would be easier to respond constructively.

Press conference. What took him so long? He was waiting for the political winds to settle before reading a great speech from a teleprompter. While Bush was not the greatest speaker, he would have made a statement on the day of the attack based on his principles and he would have done so before a "shout out."

After this latest terrorist attempt, I give him a D--very weak response. Also weak on Iran. I feel less safe. Where did Mr. Confidence go?

Yes, but you forgot to give him credit for immediately rushing back to his rented luxury beach vacation house while out golfing after his friend's kid was hurt playing on the beach.

And then gone off to invade the wrong country! I wish he had taken the time to figure that out first!

Dubya was hell bent on invading Iraq long before he was President.

Is your position that the current administration is free to replicate the same mistakes made by the prior administration because, heck, someone already made that mistake before so it must be ok?

I prefer government and institutions that learn from the past, not mindlessly repeating it. Napolitano is in way over her head, and as her boss Obama needs to acknowledge it (sorta kinda did yesterday) and correct it (replace her). Accountability starts from the top and is pushed down. Actions have consequences, and fools need to be moved out of the way.

Lady get your facts straight.

It took Bush six days to mention the Reid shoe bomber. Yes, that is old news, but if you are going to mention what Bush would or would not do, at least get the facts straight on what he did not do. He did not make a statement on the day of the attempte attack. It took him six.
