Fantastic school if you want to study the classics and get a PHD or go one to law or Philosophy.

St. John’s is in an urban area but it’s it’s own little place. Annapolis is a small town

being in the middle of a small downtown area is not the same as being urban

For the adventurous and truly young at heart, Yale-NUS, a liberal arts college right in the middle of Singapore.

Wow, great addition. Anyone have experience with Yale-NUS? My son didn’t know what to make of it and a campus visit wasn’t happening.

It’s the first liberal arts college in Singapore. Admit rate is <4%. Appply through common apps theough Yale in new haven, CT. There are also approximately 12 liberal arts affiliate liberal arts colleges in the USA for study abroad (Amherst, Yale, Wellesley, Vassar, Barnard, Swarthmore, Pomona, Oberlin...) so basically, it would be a good fit for students who would apply to these US liberal arts colleges.

It’s amazing, true, but still costly even with the three-year work commitment to fulfill the terms of the bursary arrangement. I get palpitations just thinking of paying that airfare.
For certain, incredible opportunities for the right student.

PP here. My D just stop arrived there for a study abroad from one of the affiliated liberal arts schools in the US. Her first reaction is she can’t beleave her luck. I don’t believe she’ll be disappointed in terms of academics or her experience there.

The Claremont Colleges are in no way, shape, or form urban.

Yup -- I did my clerkship in Pasadena -- totally suburban -- in a nice way, but totally surburban.

Claremont is a separate city from Pasadena.

Correct — it’s a suburb of Pasadena.
