Best way to make connections with parents of DD's classmates when preschool doesn't have directory?

We waited until our 3-year old mentioned one or two of the same kids a few times and even asked to have his friends over to play. Then I left a note in their cubbies stating we would love to set up a play date with my email and cell phone. They recognized my son’s name and it worked out well.
