Wow. Why? He left a 5 year old boy. You wouldn’t want his son to have his father back?

Steve Irwin also left young kids and was a way better person. Don't you want Steve Irwin's kids to have their father back? Wow. You are a despicable person. Just wow. You get this one deed and you don't save everyone? Mother Theresa? Love how you twisted this to me being a bad person for not wanting to save John Freaking Lennon. Wow.

But you did come across as a jerk.

There wouldn't be Christianity, because it is based on his resurrection, not so much on his wisdom when alive, because there were others in antiquity with the same common sense/benevolent messages, e.g., Buddha.

Pp here. I'm not Christian so that was my reasoning too

I would say it but I don’t want the Secret Service coming to my door.

I would have stopped the Newtown CT shootings. I know there have been many shooting and deaths of innocent children. But that one just still take my breath (because I am from that area, the children were so little and they were in school) and knowing nothing has changed makes me angry.

No 9/11.

There is such a sharp line between how we lived pre- and since. Our world is ridiculous now.

Keep Bobby Kennedy alive so he could win the presidency instead of Nixon.

I have a feeling that if it were not him then there would have been a different guy and the outcome would be the same. I think undoing all that led to the WW2 or best yet both WW1 and 2.. would be more effective and would save even more people.

Why not save JFK instead? That would undo Bobby's fate..

What counts as a good deed? Is a preventative killing of Hitler or Stalin a good deed or must it be non-violent?

I don't know. Some people more than others have a remarkable ability to encourage others to coalesce around them and carry out their agenda. Say what you will about Trump, he has this ability -- for better or ill depending on your politics. I think it's too facile to say there would have been another Hitler who did all that Hitler did. Perhaps, but not at that time or in that place, and perhaps not with such breadth. Murdering 6 million Jews is an astounding work but thousands of Jews were routinely massacred throughout medieval Europe and even later. The fact that he managed to set up camps to do it systematically, and murder 6 million non-Jews besides, is really amazing (in an awful way of course). Even if someone else had Hitler's politics could he have come up with the same system, the same effectiveness?

You can't undo all evil in the world with one deed. Killing Hitler and preventing the Holocaust would be a great deed. But so would many others in history. What about curing the bubonic plague? Preventing the colonization of the Americas or at least preventing it from happening with so much disease? Etc.

You be the judge. It is whatever you consider to be a good deed. I would think that having the wish power you could simply prevent the birth of Hitler or Stalin maybe.. by having their mothers marry someone else? Zero violence, good deed in action.
