I also found it boring |
| I love this show because it is all about small moments. I’m only a few episodes in but I really really am enjoying it- very well written, funny, well acted. |
I am looking for Chernobyll but set in the Haredi community R' Laserov "on this side we have the following halachic considerations - all in tension with these others - but when you add MORE weight to what Rov Shmuel said, you undermine Rov Dovid, and when THAT happens ----!!!!!!!!" |
I am looking for Game of Thrones set in the Haredi world "There has not been a Breslover Rebbe in 200 years - but there are rumors from across the Narrow Sea" |

Loved it. And.. I didn't need the subtitles for a lot of the Yiddish. Very proud of myself. In fact, their subtitle translation was sometimes wrong.
But, they got everything right. Even the extras in the street were in the exact character as one would see. The acting, set, and dialogue was spot on, right down to the facial expressions. I hope the third season happens, but, regardless it will be a long time away. |
' Good for you! I know the feeling. You are right, it all felt very real and very convincing, like you were looking at real people in real situation not a scripted scenes. The acting was fabulous, nothing forced, nothing faked, very believable reactions and the feeling of the dialogues. Spot on. |
I guess many people who are tired of the overly action packed films that are overloaded with special effects to the brim .. ad nauseam.. consider watching this show a catharsis for the senses. It is like a spiritual refreshing regenerating rain after long draught. |
And the beautiful thing in life is that it has something for everybody, this clearly is not for you so let the others enjoy. Thank you. |
NP, also found it boring. And I’m not the Spider-Man type, thank you very much. I’ll watch six-hour Bergman movies in Swedish and find them fascinating. (And PP, none of the multiple people who have said it’s boring is doing anything to stop others from enjoying so calm down.) |
No need for insults. I'm glad you enjoyed it. I thought it was boring. Maybe I just don't find anything particularly endearing about the Haredi and lack shtetl-nostalgia. The one I did enjoy was My Brilliant Friend. |
+1. I think I’m on episode 5 so not very far but I agree. I really enjoy the scenes with the grandma. |
Pay attention to the Picture with an ocean on her room wall. |
I wish I could find a worthy comeback! |
