This is stupid and crazy right?

OP bring a dog to the wedding. Say the person at the shelter say it was a cat!

Everyone walking down the aisle is technically just there to escort the cat which will be wearing a matching wedding attire to the human bridal party. She is in a fight with her sister who doesn't want to do this because she is allergic to cats. Cousin wants me to take her sister's place and wear the dress she bought for her sister. She doesn't want me to alter the dress in case her sister comes to her senses. Her sister is 7 inches taller than me and weighs over 100 lbs more than I do. When I told her this, she responded that the last time she saw me 2 years ago I was pretty heavy and it would just need to be safety pinned at the bottom for the height. Well I was 8 months pregnant with twins when she last saw me and even then I didn't weigh as much as her sister. I guess it really doesn't matter because you know the cats are actually the wedding party, I am just a human carrier.

This isn't the strangest part though. She is expecting everyone in the wedding party and as many guests as possible to adopt or foster a cat. She wants this to be a life saving event. She is very upset that many people are declining this request. She said that she is being firm that at least the wedding party needs to take their cat home. I'm guessing this is why her sister is saying no. I'm OK carrying a cat while wearing a giant mu mu dress but I'm not taking a cat home. I said no to the cat adoption and she told me that she may need to replace me with a more supportive relative.

You can't make this crap up.

I am speechless.

the wedding party needs to take their cat home

No

Based on this alone, no. Just a simple no.

Cats hate being taken out of their home environment. They’re not like dogs. This should be interesting.

Batshit crazy. I'm allergic to cats as well and I would flatly refuse to be a part of this. Actually, I'd refuse even if I weren't allergic. OP just say no and back away slowly. This bride is totally nuts. People who think they can control other people are the worst.

NP way this is real, sorry. But it’s fun.

+1 I'll load up on the Zyrtec because this will be hysterical to watch. Does she think the cats are just going to lay quietly in the arms of the bridal party? They won't make noise or try to get down or climb in people's hair? Has she ever heard the expressing "it was like trying to herd cats?" PLEASE post an update after the wedding, OP.

I don't think you mean to ask if this is stupid and crazy, OP.

You should ask Jeff to correct the thread title to "This is amazing and a must-see, right?"

It she understood cats and cared about them at all, she would not subject them to this. That said, I'm curious to hear how it goes.

Pack a mouse or two to release.

Yes! I read it, too; it was in "People." The bride in the story, though, didn't seem so unhinged as in OP's post.

Oh that would be funny!

Let’s keep this thread going until the dog themed birth of her first child!

And yes, so many questions!

She is passionate about animal rescues and from what I have heard her future husband met her there. I googled cat weddings and there are people dressing up their cats and including them in the wedding. There are even people who orchestrate weddings between their cats. DH thinks I should confirm that the wedding really is between her and another human and we are aren't traveling several hours to participate in a wedding between the cats.

I was firm on telling her that we would not be adopting the cat or becoming a cat foster. I'm hoping that she finds a better replacement for her sister than me. DH is hoping that I end up as the replacement, without the taking a cat home requirement, so he can get a video of it.

This would be me also. On the one hand, I would do it just to have the documentation, but on the other, yes, it IS crazy and there’s no way in hell I’d be bringing a cat home because one of my DCs is allergic.
