+100 Ask any 10 year old why a gun is more deadly than a knife. They can tell you. Just ask them to speak slowly so you can understand (and try not to accuse them of having committed homicide because they understand more than you do.) |
+100000 people saying otherwise are being disingenuous. It’s an indisputable fact that access to guns means stuff like this happens far more frequently. If you don’t agree with that fact, then you have to believe that Americans are inherently more violent than people in all other countries. That’s the only damn factor. |
+1 See the Japan knife attack. A terrible tragedy to be sure, but "only 2" dead compared to 26 kids and teachers at Sandy Hook. If only mass killings were rare in the United State.s

To people saying mental health should be a priority because people can kill each other without guns, YOU ARE OFF BY AN ENORMOUS DEGREE OF MAGNITUDE. The USA is the only wealthy, democratic, nation to have such a heinous number of gun-related deaths. The murder rate is much, much lower in countries with restrictive gun laws. THIS IS A WELL-SUPPORTED FACT. Anyone who yes-buts or supports gun ownership is complicit in the mass murder of fellow Americans. Period. End of story.

That is true. And John Roberts, Sam Alito, Anthony Kennedy, Clarence Thomas, and Antonin Scalia are especially complicit in this particular crime. Their decision in Heller contributed DIRECTLY to this death. Laws matter. Decisions matter. How do those conservative judges sleep at night? |
| We are on pace for well over 100 homicides in DC this year, the overwhelming majority by firearms. What happened to this woman was a tragedy, and so was every other murder in the city. Why don’t you all care about the others ones? |
Duh! The victims are not white middle class people living in desirable school, districts. |
Looks like the nitwit gun control/Scalia poster strikes again!
Did you enjoy DC more when the homicide rate was through the roof? You know, before the Heller decision. |
No. This was an in the moment crime of passion. She would have a chance of fleeing from a knife or other weapons. The gun greatly reduced her odds of getting away. |
| It’s still illegal to murder someone, right? |
First sentence above: zero content. That’s what happens when you know your “movement” has been bought by conservative donors who don’t mind getting moms killed as long as the donors get tax cuts. Second sentence above: demonstrates a total lack of logic. Are you really this bad at understand the causes that influence our society? You seem incapable of drawing a distinction between a factor that is the entire cause of something (so rare as to be nearly nonexistent in the real world) and things that are contributing causes. As for gun control: not sure of above, but yes, I am certainly in favor of not having moms and kids killed by handguns. Yes, I am in favor of that. |
Oh, we certainly do care about those. And Scalia and Roberts are in part responsible for those 100 deaths too. Republican judges are getting lots of people killed in DC. |
But he would not have. Killing without a gun is not as easy or as quick. Better health care and mental health care is no panacea for the culture of violence. The culture the nra and gun nuts perpetuate is the problem. |
Would you rather people say that blood was on John Roberts' hands? Because that's true, too. |
Hahaha. The gun nuts aren't the ones slaughtering people. Ever watch the local news? Can you figure out which demographic has turned parts of DC into a shooting gallery? |
