Preschool and Daycare Discussion
|
Parents I found out some interesting information when contacting some childcare centers. Many centers are now requiring their lead teachers to have a BA or at least an AA in early education. I am glad to hear this.
Violations are easier to find if a daycare is in Virginia |
| I really could use a few more... |

I didn't include my child's age. She is 2. For ages 4 months to 23 months the fee is $155 a week. The in home daycare I was using before going to the Church CDC charged me $175 a week for ages 6 weeks until 5 years old and included all meals (not formula). |
| Not the OP, but what's the name of the church CDC in Takoma? Would love to check it out! |
| $282 per week, Burke, VA, small local chain. DD is 19 months. Snacks and lunch provided, but DD bring her own vegetarian lunches in. We love it! |
You may not get an answer on autism because autism spectrum disorders may not be diagnosed until much later. |
|
OP here. Actually Autism can be diagnosed as early as 15 months now.
Plus daycares are not just for infants either. I have got my answer for the Autism most daycares want to see and IEP or another program that describes goals for the child. |

$268 per week
13 month old - this fee applies until 18 months downtown Silver Spring, MD independent daycare center hours, spot available, proximity to work for easy nursing |
Wow, I think you may be oversimplifying just a bit but it's your paper so good luck with it. As long as you "got" your answer. |
|
I am not oversimplifying it. I gave you a very brief answer but my paper will have more to it.
Thanks to all the parents who helped. |
| OP - would love to see the finished paper - please share! |

574 per week for an infant (under 1) and a three year old. Independent center-based daycare. I think the infant room is around 315 per week and we get a discount for older sibling. Arlington, Va. Hours open - 7 am to 6 pm. Infant room - parents provide diapers, wipes, baby food and bottles. After infant room, daycare provides all food and drink.
I chose them for location (close to work, not far from home) and I got good feeling about the staff, many of whom have been there for years. Chose them for my second child because we have been really happy there with or first for three years and now realize how great our center is compared to others where friends have their kids. I have not noticed any special needs kids, but our center is flexible, such as having staff trained on nebulizers. |
| 3 yo, $300/week, government-run daycare, food and snack provided, 9.5 hrs per day (but open 7:30 a.m. - 6 p.m.). It's a very nurturing and well established center and we chose it because reputation and proximity to work (on site). |
