Crowd sourcing how to arrange room sharing situation- pregnant with 4th

Anonymous
My twin sister and I shared a room for 16 years until my older brother moved out. If the boys get along, definitely put them together. We have a 4 bedroom house and one of those is DH's office. When DC3 came we got bunk beds that can come apart (~$700) so we can configure them however we like. There was a short time when DD was getting down a lot at night to use the bathroom so we took them apart so she didn't have to worry about coming down the stairs in the dark.

Yes, it does. Kids get curious. Privacy matters.

It does not hurt a kid to be aware of sex differences at a young age. It’s an opportunity to teach them boundaries and respect. There’s nothing icky about it unless you make it that way.

Boys share. Buy whatever bunks you want, but don’t act like $1500 is the only choice.

I'd have the boys share since it sounds like their personalities mesh well. Kids having their own bedrooms is a very, very recent trend. Sharing is good practice for college as well.
I'd put the baby in the room that is most convenient for you, the boys in the biggest room, and the girl in the smallest. If the boys can't have the twin beds, then I think the bunk bed is worth the expense. You can always use it in a new house. Kids love having an empty bunk as extra play space/fort/stuffed animal cave, etc.

I am nervous about putting a 2.5 year old in a room with bunk beds. I am envisioning him trying to get up to his brother in the middle of the night and falling off. Other wise that is what I would do.

OP, you already know the answer based on the phrasing of your question. You are just looking for affirmation that you are correct, which you have above.
