Alternate vaccination schedule

What do you mean? I believe in science that tells us that no vaccine works 100% of the time on 100% of the people. So when idiots with no reason to skip a vaccine do, they put all of us at risk. Plus, you know, those people who cannot be vaccinated for real reasons or who have had their immunity wiped out because of things like chemotherapy. That is what I believe. Because I am not a moron.

herd immunity. look it up! vaccines only work at the rate we have come to enjoy for the 50 years because the vast majority of people are vaccinated. every non-vaccinated person puts everyone else the come in contact with a a MUCH higher risk. baring medical necessity there is not reason to put other kids at risk. anti-vaxers put not only their own but everyone else around them at risk, especially those with immune system issues or weakness.
all you have to do is look up all the current outbreaks.. and check out what polio did not that long ago.. or the lines people in other countries stand in for vaccines.
I would not want a non-vaccinated kid in class with my kid and would certainly limit my child's exposure to a non-vaccinated kid as much as possible. I wish schools would eliminate all but medical reasons for the vaccine waivers.

If you have such great faith in vaccines, your child will be fine so its a non-issue.

The stupid is strong with this one!

OP I do vaccinate my kid and it turns out that her DTAP did work, discovered this through a titer blood test. Did two extra DTAP vaccines just to get her to her to the most basic level of immunity. This is why it’s important that every kid be vaccinated because sometimes they don’t work and herd immunity requires as many kids as possible be vaccinated to actually creat the herd.
I’m glad the parents are coming after you on this post. You are dumb and your kid deserves better. I’m assuming you also voted for trump since you don’t believe in science? Dc is gonna be fun for you.

Is the vaccination rate for different schools publicly available?

There is no established religion that does not allow you to vaccinate. Even the Christian Scientists have an out in their writings that allows for vaccinations. There should be no exemption for the religion of Woo And Feelings.

Since the doctor doesn’t think you have a medical reason, just get the shots. We have to reserve non-vaccination for those with legit medical reasons for herd immunity reasons.

Your pediatrician is wrong. You submit the health certificate and a notarized religious exemption statement - the language is in the DCPS regulation number references on the health form.

I would adjust your alternative schedule it to have at least one shot of all the major one before school (mmr, tap, polio, HepB). The first shot gives immunity in the high 80s to high 90s. The second and third shots are to get that immunity closer to 100%.

DC has a 97% on time vaccination rate - this is one of the highest in the country. I'd not talk to people about this - you will be shunned.

I spoke with the pediatrician today and they said that we cannot claim religious exemption because DC is already been partially vaccinated.

OP, unless you have a valid medical or religious reason not to vaccinate on schedule, then you will have to lie to your child’s school.

Hey! Some of us have infant siblings who can't even get the measles vaccine yet (it's given at 12 mo). It's highly contagious and can linger in the air up to 2 hours after an infected person has been through. Vaccinate your kid!

I want only medical exemptions to vaccines. No delayed schedules and no religious exemptions.
