The MyLife scam site already knows my sister recently divorced. How did it find that out so quickly?

not sure what you mean by this. Since when is MyLife a scam site? If you believe this, then the internet in general is a giant "scam site".

They e mail you propaganda and then instruct you to pay for a membership so you can sort out the propaganda which 9 times out of 10 turns out to be nothing more than propaganda.

I have a record under my maiden name so I'm grateful I'm not easy to find. Just need to make sure no one in my current life figures it out....

You can always check marriage records online from whatever city or county they are currently living in.

Most of the info on My Life is totally inaccurate. I just Googled people I know well and My Life confused lots of their information with other people. Even the birthdates were wrong! I was wary of OP's choice of words, but when I looked people up, it definitely looked like a scam.

+1 It is a scam. My husband has a common John Smith type of name, and it had him listed as the wrong race, marital status etc. Here's a DCUM post from last year that talks about removing your info from mylife and similar sites. It took me about a half hour to request removal from 5 different sites, so not too bad.

If you don't log into their site and pay their fee to "manage their information" they give you a reputation score of 3 out of 5 or a 4 out of 5, which they call a "red flag" with negative reputational info. But 9 times out of 10 there is no negative info, they're just missing info and scamming people.

A traffic violation is criminal activity though.

Correct. However, the term "criminal activity" is rather broad. It could also mean murder, rape or robbing a bank......but more often than not, it is just a speeding ticket. Which do you take more seriously?

Those sites are opening themselves up to law suits.

What about people who have first and last names that are not so common here in the USA?

Applies to me and my info is 100% accurate. Scarily accurate.

Why is it so accurate for some and inaccurate for others?

The site is culling information, often in an inaccurate fashion.

Nailed it. This is just one of many approaches these sites use. Can't believe people pay for this information.

Just searched my name. Some information is correct, unfortunatel, however there i is a huge red flag warning of criminal or civil lawsuits. Knowing this is inaccurate I scroll through the info only to find out they are actually flagging someone whom I don't even know who supposedly lives at the end of the block. That is BS.
