| Third on medication. My husband's anxiety was pretty debilitating to the point that I thought we were going to have to check him into a psych hospital. Medication helped, but it wasn't great. Then he found the right medication and BOOM everything changed. Everything. He went from having panic attacks regularly to being the laid back guy I fell in love with. There are downsides (sexually), but I'll happily deal with them to have my husband back. |
How did you find the right one? Just try a bunch until one works? I'm not OP but my DH is similar. He's very resistant to medication, he says they make his mind cloudy and he needs to be sharp for his job. He also says they mess with your mind (this is mostly paranoia because isn't it messed up already?). |

While exercise (and perhaps some sunshine a ‘la Tom Cruise!) can assist w/anxiety, sometimes just that is not enough to cease its presence in one’s life.
Since it could be a chemical imbalance that exists in the brain, he may need to take some anti-anxiety medication to get him feeling better. I know it’s tough to get a man to see a doctor.... And likely tougher to get him to even consider going on meds, however in your case it just may be the only viable option available. Good luck! |
