For those of you sneering that this is wasted money - I hardly think trying to shore up our country’s borders is a wasteful cause. And donating to this doesn’t preclude anyone from also donating to other worthy causes. It’s not a n either/or situation.

As someone put it on Twitter, magats hate brown people more than they love their money.

Why don't you give your money to a veteran organization, PP?

The only people I ever hear use the derogatory term "brown people" are liberals. And who says I don't give to veterans' organizations?

Liberals are smarter than your ilk, that's why. Feel free to set more of your money on fire.

Well, certainly - that's what you keep saying. It just hasn't turned out to be true, so there's that...

“The fundraising page doesn’t mention Kolfage’s most recent business venture, a Facebook page titled Right Wing News and a ring of affiliate sites that frequently trafficked in conspiracy theories. In October, Right Wing News was pulled down by Facebook in a sweep of more than 559 pages that the company said were “using fake accounts… to drive traffic to their websites” or “were ad farms using Facebook to mislead people into thinking that they were forums for legitimate political debate.”

Kolfage also ran Right Wing News’ shuttered affiliate sites including VeteranAF and FreedomDaily, which pushed false conspiracy theories, like ones claiming Hillary Clinton was secretly hiding deadly illnesses and fake voter fraud stories days before the 2016 election.

Those sites stopped operating in March, replaced with a string of text that said “This Website Has Gone Out of Business.”

The sites often trafficked in false, inflammatory and racist content, including headlines like “Obnoxious Black People Lose Their Minds When Victoria Secret Models Say This 1 Word On Live Video” and “Trump Just Released Embarrassing Vids Of Obama’s Muslim Friends That He Never Wanted Seen.

So you mean, just like BuzzFeed, the sites were full of clickbait? Got it.

It's about $25 million to build one mile of border wall. One mile.

How many miles do you think you are going to be able to fund this way exactly? Even if there's a way to get it built.

This guy is ripping you off. What's his plan for if he only raises $50 million? Enough to TWO miles.... is he going to build 2 miles of wall? Give it to the government and require them to build two miles? What's the plan here?

Amateur hour.

People who are actually donating aren't smart enough to think about "what next"?

I think the people who are donating money are more concerned about the message they are sending. Conservatives are more intelligent than you give them credit for.

Precisely. The fact that $6 million has *already* been raised speaks volumes. I don't think anyone's under the illusion that a wall will actually be built with these funds, but it certainly shows how important the issue is - which is something liberals seem to want to sweep under the rug.

This guy will find a way to steal this money.

I don’t think it’s even stealing. This guy’s entire pitch is... trust me, my twitter account has a blue check mark. Besides that, it is very light on details. He can probably get away with paying himself millions of dollars to study the legality of having private citizens build the wall. And issue a report saying
Using nope, not legal. That will be $20 million for services rendered.

Trumpkins do not seem to get that there is no mechanism by which this money can become a wall, even if they raise the billions of dollars needed. Like many other things, they seem to think they do whatever the f@ck they want, the law be damned. Please morons, tell us how this works. (Spoiler alert: it doesn’t). And I love the PP who is proud to be a double moron.

That said, I’ve shared it on Twitter today with a #BuildTheWall and a #LibtardsSuck and a #QAnon. I love watching the gullible Trumpnuts throwing their money at a con man and think the commendpts section is awesome. And Trumpkins seem remarkably cool with social media disinformation campaigns.

You are exactly why independents and sane Democrats are running from your party in droves. Thank you for outing yourself as the troll you are.

You are hilarious, PP. You think people are running from the D party? Study up, fool

So what actually happens to this money if everyone knows it’s not for a wall? The Vet gets to pocket it? If everyone knew it wasn’t for a wall, there would be a designated charity or PAC or hate group where the money was going to end up. Instead, it will end up lining this vets pockets.

Lots of idiocracy in the comments seems pretty sure they alone can get the wall built.

Great. Then fund the whole thing and leave the rest of us out of it.

I don’t think many of you get it, it’s not about trying to come up with 5 billion dollars, if he succeeds in raising a ton of money it’ll put incredible pressure on the Democrats to cough up the rest. Trump or no Trump, the majority of this country is sick of open borders and nothing helps the Republicans more. This guy who opened up this Go Fund Me account will get the last laugh.

Totally agree. He may not hit a billion but he’s already at nearly 11 million and climbing, this will turn into headline news everyday as it gets bigger and the pressure on liberals won’t be easy to hide.

Wake me when the fund gets to 2/300 million.

11 million isn’t even enough to get Bryce Harper’s attention and couldn’t pay for one mile of the the over 1,900 mile border.

RAICES raised $20 million in 10 days.
https://www.texastribune.org/2018/06/27/viral-facebook-fundraiser-has-generated-more-20-million-immigration-no/

The Jill Stein recount effort, stupid as it was, raised $4 million in 24 hours and went on to make $9.5 million.
https://www.cbsnews.com/news/does-jill-steins-recount-effort-have-any-chance/

Just off the top of my head.

Exactly. RAICES came to mind immediately.

We don’t have open borders. Not anywhere close. And immigration is down. Legal and illegal. Illegal immigration has fallen from 1.6 million in 2000 to 304,000 last year. So why throw money at a problem that’s less and less a problem? Stupid public policy...
