Not dark at all. However, way to be wayyyy behind the trend are you sure you want to do this?

Not OP, but most of us don't have the resources to repaint our houses every 2-3yrs as trends change. We went with BM Revere Pewter late last year, and guess what, that's what color our house is going to be for at least the next 5 years. If OP paints with a neutral greige now, she's going to be just fine, especially if she is happy with it.

So slightly off topic. We have used BM Owl Grey for rooms and Horizon for hallways. It's coming up to 5 years and I want to repaint with a more saturated color or a bit darker but I don't like moving toward greige. Is Revere Pewter an option?

Revere Pewter skews more being than gray. I don't think it's particularly saturated.

Here's a comparison chart. If you think Repose is too dark, you might like BM classic gray or balboa mist. They look a tad lighter.

But, you could also just go 25% lighter on the Repose gray and call it a day!

Thank you! I read that lightening a color can really change the tones so would like to test out the 25% lighter... Also have been looking at Balboa mist online and will check it out!

also it's...hgtv

has hgtv ever shown a house that doesn't look sort of terrible?

I guess I'm easy to please as I usually think most of their renovations look beautiful.

I'm not sure exactly what you mean by saturated. If you mean darker, then yes, Revere Pewter is darker and more brown-toned than Owl Gray. My DD has Owl Gray in her bedroom and my DS has Revere Pewter. So, I see them all the time. Revere Pewter, imo, is not really gray... it's beige.

Do you mean Gray Owl? There are two versions of Gray Owl, jut fyi.

Revere Pewter is darker, but probably not enough of a difference to be what you are looking for.

I have been seeing a LOT of interior designers going white on the walls. Of course, choosing a white paint is super hard, as well, as they can skew yellow, gray, blue, beige, whatever. I think I'm going to take the leap and paint a few rooms white to see if I like it. I'm over gray.

DP here, but I personally cannot stand the white trend. White walls look so stark and glaring to me. I prefer a cozier background. Give me a warm greige like Edgecomb Gray any day over that. To each his own though!

I like SW modern gray it's similar to Edgecomb Gray from BM. It's more of a sandy earthy color, but looks great in light and dark rooms, northern or southern exposure. It picks up slight lilac undertone in a darker room. I had repose gray in a sun lit room and it looked amazing. Painted it in a dark dining room and it's just blah.

BM Athena is my favorite Greige.
