How many people on this forum (50+) with kids in elementary?

49. Husband is 45. Kids are 8 and 7 (Neither adopted nor from a clinic) We don't get to see many older parents here in Fairfax.

I'm 46, my husband is 50. We have kids in 3rd, 1st, K, and 3K. So, in 8 years, when my youngest starts 6th grade, I will be 54, and my husband will be 58.

You are not alone!

We are in Bethesda where older parenting is supposed to be common but I don't feel like I see that many parents my age at kid places.

Another older parent here in Bethesda. I don’t go to “kid places” like loud, noisy places with my kids. They go with their friends and the younger parents.

You should see many of us at Back to School Night and other school events, bus stop in the morning, etc.

OP, where do you live? Seriously, most of my friends and neighbors here were in their very late 30s or early 40s when their kids were born. I am often surprised when I see Momos in their late 20s - just not common around here. Most peers were getting their MBAs or on law firm partner trCk at that age.

well I technically don't qualify at the moment because I'm 54 and my youngest is in 8th grade. But when I was 50, she was in 4th.

My good friend's adopted kid is now 16 and in 10th, but my friend is I think 64 or so.

DS is our only child and I got pregnant naturally. My dad gets a kick out of this because his parents were the same age when they had him....
