Why not? |
I don't love the campus(es) or the business and nursing focus (unless the kid in question is focused on business or nursing). I also don't think the spirit of the place comes that close to ND's. |
| Not to burst your bubble, but her stats/resume that you listed don't have something to make her standout from all the other applicants at ND/BC/Villanova. Out of that list, maybe Villanova. I would drop the bar a little and check out some of the other Catholic Schools at the next level down. |
Because of her grades or SAT score? |
Yeah, we got almost like...trade school vibes from SLU. Hard to explain, but DD - a prospective poli sci major - didn't like it. |
|
IF u need aid, BC will be difficult.
Last year, my DC w 35 ACT got into Notre Dame but father is Irish What about Loyola Chicago or Creighton U? Or Xavier? |
|
Try this
Noter Dame Georgetown Boston college Next tier Villanova Santa Clara Loyola Md Next Dayton Marquette Creighton Non Catholics to try Tulane Wake Forest Tufts Boston university |
Soory, I misread the SAT score, but she does need a differentiator. |
| Apply to ND, St. Mary‘s and Villanova. |
| Also attend every ND open house/visit you can find in the DC area. |
I like your list but Loyola MD isn’t in the same league as Nova, nor SCU for that matter. Closer to the next tier down in most metrics. |
| Easier to get into Norte Dame coming from a public high school less girls to compete with. My daughter's Visi class 5-6 girls got in. One student dn even though higher SAT/ACT scores, more AP classes and volunteer hrs, legacy and a current sibling attending. |
No way. ND loves Catholic high school kids. |
Those schools want good students who are Catholic. It’s not all about super stats. |
Maybe her parents wanted her to go there because SIB was there, but she wasn’t into it. It’s a very religious school - you have to be ‘all in’ with that. It comes out in the essays. My DD looked and wouldn’t even apply and she was coming from all girls Catholic. |
