Why do they wait so long to send letters?

That's the funny part - you can't sign up for blackboard/SIS until you get the letter (because it will have a code you need).

For our school is it because there is a high moblity among students and the don’t know how many students they will have until it gets closer to the start of the school year. This is especially true if they are near a number that allows for an extra teacher.

Last year our school had to hire a new 1st grade teacher a couple of weeks before the start of school because of unexpected enrollment. After hearing that, it was kind of hard for me to complain when my 1st grader didn't have his room assignment until 10 days before the start.
