It's a slide - I'm 38 and from NY. My grandma who was born in the early 1900s called it a sliding board. My MIL calls it a "sliding pond" which WTF?

Googling confirms "sliding pond" - my usage as a kid - is a corruption of slide upon. I am from Brooklyn - this usage seems to be confined to NYC and nearby parts of NJ. It may be obsolete there?
