Which public school system did you move your kids to?

Ummmm....isn't this thread about why people choose to leave MCPS? I'm pretty sure policies overlap with education.

Looked into Howard County, private schools, Frederick County and decided to stay put in MCPS. Unfortunately, the entire K-12 in US is substandard. We supplement at home and kids go to magnet program in MCPS. The peer group is good and with supplementation they are on par with students in other countries.

Simple people like to keep ideas in boxes - preferring to view issues in isolation rather examining overlap.

So yeah . . .
1. Policies affect education.
2. Diversity is great only if individual/group cultural norms and practices fit under a greater umbrella of norms and practices. Of course, this means there's some flexibility on both sides. (Sometimes parts of the "greater umbrella" ain't so great.)
3. Diversity doesn't translate into any one group receiving preferential treatment over another. And with #3 comes the need to develop resilience and resourcefulness among ALL people.
4. "Newer" systems will eventually feel the impact of a changing culture as the nation changes. So school systems should learn from MCPS by practicing #2 and 3.
