I just don’t want the poor illegal immigrants coming to HoCo and eating up our budget. I know it will eventually, but hoping my kids will be out before it destroys the school system. Then we can move as we know the fixes will go up once again. |
Right, but the PP's point was it was hard to believe the earlier post came from Howard County. |
TROLL |
| Of course, there are people who shout racist & troll without speaking to the real issues of MoCo. People are entitled to their beliefs and of course those beliefs may different from yours. We are considering a move to Howard Co simply because we think that MCPS is going to far left. Case in point, there was recent news of MCPS making room for new illegal alien children but has no plans for a new curriculum. MCPS is working to gain whatever unicorn Emmy Oscar golden statue for ultra liberalism & Education, while neglecting its tax payers needs. I have no problem with helping someone in need but one must consider your own family first. |
No there wasn't, yes it does. But if you don't want to live here, you don't have to. |
|
To the PP, please take a look at this article.
MCPS Reaffirms Pledge To Offer Safe Schools to Undocumented Students http://www.bethesdamagazine.com/Bethesda-Beat/2018/MCPS-Reaffirms-Pledge-To-Offer-Safe-Schools-to-Undocumented-Students/ Once again, MCPS is pandering for too far left instead of focusing on education and curriculum. |
I don't see anything in there about new students. Like all public school systems in the US, MCPS is required, by law, to enroll all students who are residents of its jurisdiction, regardless of immigration status/citizenship. But again, you don't have to live here if you don't want to. |
MCPS can enroll them. MCPS can also make the decision to report undocumented students to ICE. See how the law can have duplicity?
|
Probably meant leftist not liberal. Mont county is full of leftists. |
Move to the Glenelg High School area. That's where all the racist families live. Just don't let your kids get caught spray painting the 'n' word across the parking space of the African American principal, especially if they're an 18-year-old senior. Spoiler: They were marched out of the building in handcuffs. https://www.wmar2news.com/news/crime-checker/howard-county-crime/glenelg-students-charged-with-hate-crime-for-graffiti-incident |
| Leftists as the PP calls it or however anyone else wants to define it cannot change the fact that many of the people voting for socialist policies or ultra liberal policies often benefit from them and/or it doesn't impact them. Why? Because their children are in "W" schools or private schools or have long graduated from MCPS. These people may live in cushier parts of MoCo and only see diverse groups of people when they are out & about or when those diverse people are performing a service (nannying, cutting grass, house keeping, etc) |
MCPS certainly could do that. But if they did, they'd be breaking the law. |
DP, we are not moving. We will quietly view against democratic policies and it's candidates. As was demonstrated in the 2016 presidential election, many people don't have to speak, they let their actions and ballots speak. |
| Excuse me VOTE not view |
OK, then don't move. But this is the Maryland Public Schools forum. If you want to talk about politics, there's a Politics forum. |
