Lmaoooooooo what a fool Do you have any idea how hard it is to "bulk"? On the OUTSIDE limits of possibility women can only put on 12 lbs a muscle in a year and every year after less than that. It is really almost impossible for women to be bulky because we don't produce enough testosterone. If you see "bulky" women it's for one of two reasons: 1. They take PEDs 2. They have a lot of fat sitting under their muscle which makes them look big Your dumb little 6 lb weights aren't doing anything for you anymore, let alone making you bulky. |

Try reading this excellent article by Nia Shanks-- she provides a detailed explanation of why lifting heavy weights at lower reps is so much better for you than endless reps of 5 pound dumbbells. http://www.niashanks.com/11-beginner-strength-training-tips-women/

I am in the "it varies by exercise" group.
OP- you should be using weights that are heavy enough that the last 1-2 reps are hard. So if you goal is 8-10 you's likely use a heavier weight than if your goal is 12-15 reps. If at the end of your reps you feel like you could keep on going then the weight is too light. |
