| 50. One 30 min and one 20 min. |
GOOD FOR YOU! |
What county? |

APS 1st grade 25 minutes.

15-20 am, 15 or so pm
25-30 after lunch. (Catholic School). The day is longer, though. (45 minutes) When my kid was at APS, he visited the Catholic School his brother attended. He said they had more recess. I said no, they just break it up into smaller chunks. He insisted I was wrong. Nope. More. |
|
30 mins daily outside unless raining or polar vortex.
PE x3/week. |
| 25 minutes plus 15 minutes morning recess before classes begin. More would be nice. |

School is from 8:15-11:55 am. That time includes 20 minutes for recess and 20 minutes for lunch. Most 7,8 and 9-year olds have that schedule. If school is from 8:15 -12:55, then lunch and recesses total 1 hour. No standing in line for lunch. Food is on the table when lunch bell rings.
Plenty of play after school. Kids hardly stay inside because of weather and we live at 60 degrees north. Most go to neighborhood schools and walk to school ca 10-15 minutes. The time after school is one big recess because parents are at work and law doesn't require kids to stay home or be with grownups once they start school. |
That's the same at the school where I teach and even a light mist or very light rain often doesn't keep us in. |
| MCPS. 40 minutes for recess and 30 minutes for lunch. |
Omg. Sorry - just noticed this is on VA school forrum. I followed the link from recent topics and didn’t notice. Time for bed. |
| 20 min of recess and 30 min of gym 3x/week. My kid seems fine with it. |
| 20 Min |
| We did an APS FB parent poll and it was really interesting the difference between schools in our own system. It really ranged. |
What do they do after 11:55? |
