+1 If it's so easy to prep for, then you're biasing the designation of gifted towards those whose parents prep them, i.e. those with resources. So you don't have a school of Highly Gifted. You have a school of the Highly Fortunate. |
Oh, please. A Cogat book runs around 20 bucks on Amazon -- that's exactly the 'prep' we did with my child, went through the book once, and we are by no means 'highly fortunate'. Yes, my child will be "disadvantaged" compared to some of her classmates who signed up for Saturday test prep, but at least I've done all I could to make sure my child does his best on the test. And, FWIW, the test isn't so easy to prep for, it isn't SAT, however, it doesn't hurt to be familiar with the format. |
| OP, you should have begun prepping last summer. |
Lol,me too. My kid is definitely not getting in on the basis of his response to that question! |
What was the question, "Do you think you have a peer group in your current classroom?"
|
Lol, no. |
What is the survey portion? |
Survey Q: "How would you feel if you get rejected by the enrichment program?" |
Don't know if the PP is lying or if there are different questions on different tests but this is not the question my DS has. |
