To summarize the good points made by people who aren't trying to find reasons to hate:

1. The pictures are clearly old, based on the dates in the captions.
2. The quotes are clearly old, based on the phrasing (everything is described as "Meghan ONCE told us," "she HAS said," etc.). If this were an actual interview, they would have described and touted it as such.

In short: even if this were inappropriate and not the most bland, anodyne content ever, it would still be a nothingburger because the material predates her engagement and, possibly, the entire relationship.

I don't think anyone called the cover trashy, just not the type of photo you would typically see from the royal family.

I think she looks very pretty.

I thought that they would have to clear this type of photo spread with Meghan and the Palace, even though it took place a while back. It's not a typical paparazzi/press pool photo spread.
