MCPS 2 hour delay but....

It's wet (a bit) but not icy and no precipitation in close-in Bethesda. I'm on a busy street and traffic is moving as quickly as usual.

Still waiting for the 7am MCPS update....

Update: Montgomery County Public Schools are closed today (Feb. 7) due to emergency weather conditions. All school and community activities in school buildings also are canceled. Administrative offices remain on a two-hour delay. Day care programs in school buildings may open at 9:00 a.m..

Glad you guys are so good about updating here. We live in DC, but kid just started at a close-in private that follows MoCo. DCPS rarely closes for snow/ice, so we’re not used to this. Guess we’ll try to make arrangements.

I just finished telling my son to get ready for the complaints. I showed him the previous comment and I think he is now hooked on DC urban mom for a good laugh.

My office is in Gaithersburg. Five people are in the office so far. Two have fallen in the parking lot. Sideways seem to be ok but black ice is hiding all over the asphalt.

And the state will deny the waiver, like they always do (in the past few years).

Usually they require one makeup day before the state will give the waiver. I would assume the school year will be extended by a day..but not for my SENIOR
