The way I look at it is that a truly successful husband has the ability to control a lot of his outside environment and to be fulfilled in that way. So he can come home and let his wife have her way on things in the domestic sphere without it being a big deal.

Yes I am PP and you're 100% correct. He has to be a boss and make decisions all day long. I do the same at home. Really successful people know how to delegate and that's also the case in a marriage with a provider. We both work hard in different ways.

This is probably a pretty accurate description of what a lot of men expect. Women are partly responsible. Those who denigrate SAHMs and ask "what do they do all day," are feeding this kind of attitude. Now men think they should own a woman who stays home and raises children, but only if she signs a document that allows him to dump her.
