OP here. It’s OK. I actually like how Jeff responded to me. He didn’t attack me and said I found my place in the world. Yes my device is banned if I don’t change my Wi-Fi network but I still start threads at least once a day here. Jeff will catch and ban me if I troll but he can’t always catch me as I haven’t trolled on every IP address. |
Ever thought of maybe getting a job? |
I have one. |
Maybe put in some more hours? You have too much free time for really dumb stuff. Do you have any relationships? |
| Oh Jesus. Was this the post of the person asking if it was a cute baby? I just quickly looked. I didn't actually watch anything. But blech if it was. |
I’m in sales and if we don’t have any customers I’m on my phone. Also, all jobs have lunch breaks. Yes I have relationships and a great group of close friends. |
Well, that's good. You do need a therapist, though. |
My guess is this person is simply young. |
| She said upthread she's 21. Still a bit immature, even for that age. Seems to get kicks out of irritating people, based on some of her very recognizable posts. |
Look, I'm an IT person as well. I'm a system administrator who has created web-sites and moderated other fora (albeit years ago). I understand Jeff's position and am perfectly fine with it. When you moderate, you don't always have a perfectly documentable justice system that is completely fair to everyone. Just like when you parent, you sometimes have to adjust the justice system to personalities of the children. What works as a fair system for the Smith family with 4 girls and 2 boys ranging from 6-16 will not always work for the Jones family who have 3 boys under 5. Jeff moderates a forum that is more white than minority, more UMC/affluent than middle class, and significantly more liberal than conservative. He has to find a way to make this environment comfortable for the self-selecting and disproportionate demographics that comprise his primary customer base. That means chasing out the rabble-rousers and trouble-makers. Trouble makers like our rather juvenile troll really do nothing to increase his user base and in many ways chase away users who don't want to have to sift through as much noise to find the signal. It also chases away many posters who would otherwise become more devoted posters. So, it serves a good purpose to have an unbalanced justice system if it can chase away the trouble makers. As a private system and business owner, Jeff does not owe a perfectly balanced and fair system to everyone. He does owe them an environment where they can feel that they can feel comfortable to participate. Discouraging those who interfere with that atmosphere is a benefit and a shrewd choice to ensure his product and system continue to grow. |
This isn't due to being young. There is something wrong with this person. I wouldn't assume this is a female or a young person. Notice the obsession with mom related sites? That doesn't imply anything about the gender of the poster. It more likely points out issues the poster has with women. |
