dog breeds you don't get

Anonymous
I don't like the dogs that are bred to have breathing problems. Pugs, Boston terriers, bulldogs etc. I hate listening to them gasp and struggle for air. It's awful.

Also, pitbulls. I am the child of an ER nurse and heard too many stories about sweet pitbulls that suddenly turned.

Any dog that has bitten or attacked other dogs or people. They should be put down, not passed from rescue to rescue.

I love my GSDs.

Dachshunds are small, but they don’t yap. They sound like big dogs when they bark. I would only own a small dog 25 pounds or less. They are cuter and easier to take care of. Cheaper too.

Dachshunds can be yappy. My aunt and uncle had really yappy ones (and like 5 of them so they would swarm you) when I was a kid and they terrified me. My in-laws always have one or two and some are yappy and others aren't.

I don't like any kind of spaniel--maybe I've just never met one that was well trained but they always seem too excitable and high strung.

Do people get the ugly dogs to boost their fragile asthetic ego?

Yeah, I'd argue with the dachshunds don't yap assertion, too. Our neighbors had two and they never shut up.

I don't like Golden Retrievers. They tend to get fat, they shed, and they generally just seem like generic dogs for generic people who can't wait to take family portraits all wearing similar clothes.

Pitt bulla are the only breed I truly don’t get. I recently saw one off leash at a park take off half the face of a toddler. It was terrible.

Pit bulls, Rottweiler, dobermans. Preach all you want about how docile you think they are.

i absolutely hate any dog that is super anxious and can’t function as a normal dog.

They get them because they look like the dog. Case in point:

My pug makes me laugh every single day. He has the greatest personality. But obviously mine is the best one!

Love our pug! Have owned many breeds/rescues/etc. pugs have stolen our collective hearts.

Jack Russells are classic barn dogs. And Corgis. I had a JR and he was a lovely dog. Many are high energy but mine wasn’t.

I have a Chi cross and he never barks, is totally house trained and kid safe. He is also reliable not to go in the horse fields. Best dog I have ever had.

I wouldn’t have a pit bull, an expensive doodle(mutt), or a pug (can’t stand the breathing noise). I also don’t love big dogs and hate Labs!!!!! They chew, are too active, and are ugly. I like a medium sized, cozy, lazy dog.
