Cheaper too.[/quote] Dachshunds can be yappy. My aunt and uncle had really yappy ones (and like 5 of them so they would swarm you) when I was a kid and they terrified me. My in-laws always have one or two and some are yappy and others aren't. I don't like any kind of spaniel--maybe I've just never met one that was well trained but they always seem too excitable and high strung.
