| Oh! The leaves that fell are from the tree(s) in your yard or his? Or majority in your yard? That explains it. |
|
Our house is a collector of leaves and snow. The wind seem to blow all or most of the neighbors (to our left and across the street) leaves into our yard. Alot. We rake them all. It's really annoying.
When it snows, we get the snow drift. Like 2 weeks ago, we had 5 inches of snow. Neighbors had 3 inches! What the--! And theirs melted the next day. Our snow stayed for 4 days!! We don't get alot of sunshine in our yard...snow just melted yesterday from Friday's short snow shower! |

Put a fence up or pay your law guys to gather leaves more frequently. This will limit the number blowing into his lawn.
Our neighbors have a huge that hangs over our lawn. We pay to trim the tree, which is annoying. But they have tried to help by collecting at least some of the many leaves it sheds in to our yard. You should consider what you can do to be a good neighbor. |
But his Magnolia leaves fall onto OP's yard. It's a wash. OP, he's nuts. Don't engage him but he's wrong. |
So he thinks he still gets more of your leaves than you get of his? The reason for his attitude was crucial missing info. We can't tell you a solution without knowing the full story. |

Use your phone to film. He shouldn’t be blowing leaves into your face.
My neighbor usually EVERY pretty day to blow 3 leaves for fun. He wears noise canceling head phones. Never occurs to him that if it’s loud enough for those it’s pretty loud for the neighbors also. That’s just who he is. |
| This is like the beginning of one of those Discovery ID Fear Thy Neighbor episodes. Don't poke the bear. |
Who keeps track of where the leaves in the yard come from? The leaves are on the ground, we rake them up. We don’t pick them up individually and try to determine which trees they came from and put them on the lawns of the owners. |
The volume of magnolia leaves is dwarfed by a fully deciduous oak but yes, the neighbor seems like an overly aggressive boomer who has been angry about the leaves since the time he moved into his house. I’d leave him alone and I’d also just let the leaves blow about until spring clean-up.....who cares. |
Sounds like he doesn’t need to “keep track of” anything - she said he doesn’t have oaks and that all the leaves he’s complaining about came from her tree. If she’s paying someone to pick them up anyway, I don’t see why she couldn’t get the ones that fall onto his property too. Especially since she knows it bothers him. Those oak trees drop leaves for a while too, so she probably expects him to do it more than once or twice. I’m sure he wouldn’t Mind if her guys got them too. |
I am the only person with an oak tree. Therefore any oak leaves belong to me. And yes, my neighbor blows the leaves back into my yard. I am getting a fence next week. He will be p*ssed. |
| If you get a fence, can he cut the branch on his property? |
He has the right to cut any branches that cross into his property but I can’t imagine he’d incite the expense. I definitely wouldn’t send your gardeners onto anybody else’s property. The fence will be effective but your maniac neighbor may chuck the leaves over it. Good luck! |

| I’d build a huge fence. And plant more trees. |
