Interesting that this guy’s role at DOJ is the director of the Organized Crime Drug Enforcement Task Forces (OCDETF), a program described by the department as “the centerpiece of the attorney general’s drug strategy. That is his “singular focus” as you put it. And, it is evidently a demotion. Reasonable, yeah. For an explanation to cover up misdeeds.

Why is an attorney who works primarily with organized crime drugs “investigating” the dossier?

He has a lot of experience in organized crime, racketeering, and transnational organized crime and international affairs. Seems like a good person to consult about the dossier.

They happened during the transition. Looks to pre-date Sessions. So that would have made Yates his boss

The article DOES NOT SAY that the meetings were not disclosed up the chain of command

The article DOES NOT SAY that Ohr was demoted for cause. It looks like he was career public service doing double duty until Trump finally bothered to appoint an Associate Deputy AG for the Senate to confirm. He can’t really be demoted from a position he wasn’t appointed to or confirmed for.

HE WASN’T. Associate, Deputy AG requires a Senate confirmation. He wasn’t appointed, and wasn’t confirmed. He was a civil servant filling in during the transition.

How can you live in the DMV and not know that 90% of political appoint,Mets are covered by civil servants during transitions? Trump just lags on appointing people. There are civil servants covering these jobs all over DC.
