Are you implying that only 'kids' smoke weed? If so, you live in a bubble, sweetie. Lots and lots and lots of 'important' adults smoke weed. My neighbor (with a very google-able name) with the NTSB buys weed from the same guy I do. Ever been to a Smithsonian event? It reeks of weed. |
You do it at work? That's the stupid part. I don't care what anyone does on their own time. But they had better not be getting high at WORK during work hours. Especially when that work includes being an example of health. |
| I think the authors buried the lede. It says they were selling to other teachers at the school. This is also incredibly stupid and inappropriate but also hilarious. Those other teachers are going to have to find a new source, and right before the holidays! |
| The rumor is that they were actually selling to parents which is even more stupid. |
Of course not. But the poster I was addressing didn't stipulate the conditions under which smoking weed was acceptable. It was weed smokers = 'kids' in service jobs. My point is simply that people our age (mid 30s) grew up with a very different perspective on weed. We tend to view it as an extremely minor intoxicant. Many hold alcohol higher in terms of impairment. I don't like the dinosaur-age assumption that all people that smoke weed are long haired, anti-social ne'er do wells. The guy I buy weed from has a BS from ***** and a JD from **** and works for the DOJ. He volunteers for youth basketball and is an all around decent guy that contributes positively to the community. He also doesn't mess around on his wife, something I can't say for a lot of the heavy drinkers I know. |
| I’m surprised they were actually smoking and not using a juul, like the MS and HS kids do in Arlington |
Ahahaha, they probably had a huge clientele if this is true. Some of those parents are probably shifting uncomfortably right now, though. |
I agree with you. But this was a really dumb move on their parts. Never at work, never on school grounds. Not because pot is evil, but because it is still illegal in VA so this was a huge risks. That's literally the only reason I don't anymore. Not going to do anything that could ever result in losing my kids or my freedom. Why take the risk? Plus and any form of intoxicant should not be used while working or anywhere that isnt your own property. Do it at home, where you're not putting yourself and those around you at risk. |
Relax I was the one who called them "kids". I was implying they are not mature enough to teach. I don't care who smokes weed on their own time. But you are an immature moron if you do it AT WORK. |
Why'd you use "immature"? Would you have used that word if, say, they were caught drinking? I don't think you would have. You obviously view marijuana consumption as adolescent. Which is laughable when you consider its myriad of documented medicinal benefits. People use it to keep their kids from having 100 seizures a day. Are they immature? I'm not the person you were addressing nor do I smoke (or drink, for that matter) but your intenet is clear to me. |
| Gotta wonder who does the hiring in Arlington. The bar is apparently much lower than I would have thought. |
Yeah. If only they had asked, “will you be smoking pot on school grounds?” this never would have happened. |
| Those bros look exactly tonight in the video. |
exactly alike!... also, ,that's just bad journalism . |
Well, I don't know these teachers, but my guess is something probably seemed off, especially if they also were selling to parents and/or other teachers, as has been suggested. But you're probably right, I bet they were top of their class at Harvard and aced their interviews. |
