I said "male equivalent" - i.e. for people who prioritize comfort over appearance. Do people seriously wear sweats out of the house when not exercising? I'm 34, not 94, and no one with whom I socialized growing up did this. It sounds unattractive and sloppy.

You sound extremely prissy. Of course people wear sweats, athletic clothes, yoga pants, etc. outside the house.
