Duh. |
That's a tough one. Grew up with cats, but now firmly in the dog camp, courtesy of our first dog, adopted at 8 wks, now adored at age 6. However, he's a TON of work--a large working breed that needs a lot of exercise and interaction. We also have a young child and work FT, so stretched thin. Hmm... If I had to choose, I guess I'd say a cat for the early years of child-rearing, but a dog any other time. |
How serendipitous! Love this story. I'm glad you're doing better! |

Dog, no question. You know how people can be "a people-person"? Dogs, in general, are people persons. They're always excited to see you. You can find many breeds that don't shed. They smile. They protect. They don't poop in the house.
I hate cats. I find the people who hate dogs make sweeping generalizations about them that are incorrect (like, I've never had a dog that ate poop, or was a drooler). |

I'm PP. Thank you, and the other PP who responded to me. The dog is terrific, doing really well in our routine, and he is my therapy. The cat is great too, and I love her! I feel like I gave the cat the short end of the stick in my post. :p |
I don't see how it's possible to "hate" an entire species without using sweeping generalizations yourself. |
| Cat. They allow you to be free. |
