What was your first thought when you first met your significant other?

I was actually just friends with him for years until I decided to leave my ex-husband, and then he called me. I decided when we would go out. We've been together for more than 8 years.

At the start of freshman year in college a friend invited me to join her table with 3 guys from her dorm. The other 2 guys were having a debate about something ridiculous and I had trouble finishing my meal because I was laughing so much. DH wasn't really involved in the debate, but the comments that he did make were smart and funny and I remember thinking that he was really cute.

We finished the meal and they went back to their dorm and I headed to mine. DH says he remembers thinking "Wow, she was cute but I can't remember her name. Doesn't matter - I'll probably never see her again".

We met online, I was surprised at how tall he was. He sent me an awful picture I went because he was taking me somewhere nice lol. In person I thought he was really attractive. I liked that when he smiled it was genuine.

7 yrs later we are still together.. I guess I like him

I thought she had a ridiculous body. I really hoped that I could get a chance to talk with her but there was no place to sit. She grabbed a chair for me and parked it right beside her. To this day she's still got that ridiculous body and she's so much more.

"Hmm. Why not."

He'd just gotten off work and was suitably scruffy looking. He desperately needed a hair cut, and needed a shave (I didn't mind that as much since I love beards). What did it for me though was that he smelled like WD-40 and engine grease. It may as well have been catnip- I can't resist a man who's good with his hands.

It's been 15 years and 2 kids. He has a much better hair cut but thankfully still keeps the beard. He doesnt smell like WD-40 too much anymore, but I still think he smells amazing.

That she was stuck up, really hot, way out of my league, and really annoying. The hott part was the only correct impression. Together 11 years.

I thought he was really hot and looking like a thug from a low income background.

Turned out his family is filthy rich.

We met online, and when I got out of my car at the restaurant he was standing by the side of his truck, grinning from ear to ear. I thought he was handsome, and he told me he was glad that I was real. Turned out he had been catfishes a couple times before me!

We met during a goodbye event for a friend of mine. He was there playing bar trivia with his friends and spotted someone he knew. She introduced us. I thought he was very handsome and friendly. Over the next 40 min, I was impressed by how smart he was and after his team won, how charming and funny. But I wasn't looking. I was also in jeans, a black turtleneck, and had just cut my hair down to half inch Afro. I felt very unsexy. No sparks, but the next time we bumped into each other, I was super happy!

We both started at a small office on the same day. I thought “I’m glad there’s another FNG.”

House party freshman year of college....

"He's cute, but I don't think he's in to me..." Turns out he was! That was 12 years ago. Two kids + one on the way. Loving every second!

I was at a big party at a friends house and there was this very cute guy who was a bit shy because he knew almost no one at the party. We talked for a few minutes but I could tell he was looking for an excuse to leave. A little while later he's sitting at the piano playing softly and then people gathered around him. Then he started to play Elton John music and the party took off with singing and dancing. He played for about an hour and I knew then that I needed to get to know him better. That was over 25 years ago and he can still rock. When we travel, if there is a piano in a hotel bar he will often be behind it.

We met in law school. He was whip smart and had a beautiful, sexy voice . . . even when discussing the State Farm case. Once I found out he was a great writer (very spare style) and an even better dance, I was done for. Together 30 years; married 25 years.

He was irreverent and charming. Felt instantly comfortable around him.
