Psst: She was unappealing because Clinton is NOT a strong woman. She can't do anything on her own. She is the very sort of woman who would obey her husband's command to vote a certain way. |
First generation of Womyn's Studies nutters. |
Hey libs, I would like to continue this discussion, but I need to fix myself breakfast. Excuse me while I call my husband to ask him what I should eat. |
Wealthy white SAHM with a masters degree here. Despise Trump and so does my DH. We weren't super thrilled with Hillary either but we voted for her anyway. |
This is hysterical. White women depend on their husbands to tell them what to do?
LOL! I was a poll worker. A Pakistani couple came in to vote. The husband told me that he needed to sit with his wife so he could tell her how to vote. (This was a written ballot.) I said, "I'm sorry, that is not allowed." (Thinking: don't you know that we don't do that here?" FWIW. I am a white woman who voted for Trump. I follow politics much more closely than my husband. We both held our noses and voted for Trump. We actually like a lot of things he has done, but would prefer he quit tweeting. |
Overall eval of the above? Bullshit. And if you had run a similar evaluation about black women the outcry would be deafening. |
No, you were stupid. She stood for progress and equality, diligence and hard work. I'm a heterosexual, happily married, well educated, UMC white woman and I voted for Hillary. You voted for a treasonous rapist. You must be so proud. |
Maybe it's about how women in general want men who are more educated and earn more than they do. So, an educated woman with a high paying job will want a man who is even more educated or equally so, and earns either about the same or more, ie, good providers. I will admit that I picked a husband who could provide for the family should I want to stay at home with my kids, which eventually, I did, though I never thought I would. Back to the topic of thread, it was the suburbs and the middle of the country that supported Trump, and that includes white women. I think race had more to do with it than gender. |
I'm a former R, and did not ever support the Clintons. I voted for both Bushes, but one thing I would never say about HRC is that she is a weak woman. No, she is a very strong woman, and though I may not agree with her, that is one thing I have often admired about her.. how tenacious she is. Even Trump admitted to that. -signed a woman |
Did you read the article? The evaluation was run on all women. They found that something like 22% of black women wanted to advance their careers, versus about 8% of white women. |
Had you read the article, you would have realized that black women hold much more independent views than white women based on survey data. That's the whole point of the article - married white women hold incredibly sheltered and paternalistic views about a women's place in the world. |
Married white women tend to have different life experiences (economically and socially) than single white women or black women and that certainly affects their political thinking. It has little to do with the woman's place in the world or paternalistic views. |
DP.. I am wondering if these differences of opinions are based on the fact that a huge % of black men are in prisons or unemployed, so black women are forced to be independent, and never want to rely on a man, whereas, in the white population, women still have the option to find "providers", though the ones who earn a lot are finding it harder and harder these days, too. But, despiste what some claim, women do generally make less than men, so it's still not that hard to find men who make more than a woman. |
Cool, too bad the data doesn't back you up:

I admit that I was a R when I was young and single, then when I had kids, I turned I then Dem. Life experiences changed my way of thinking. I realized how hard it is to raise children even on a "good" income, and couldn't imagine how even harder it was for lower income parents; schools became more important to me, as did caring about children in general. |
