+1. No woman wears polos. And if they do, they shouldn't.

+2 POLOS? Seriously??

+3. I don't know where the Polo poster lives, but I live in the Bethesda area and the only women who wear polos are playing tennis or golfing. Polos are NOT in fashion!!!!

The moms running around with babies are all in athletic wear (even often at the Mall and on playdates). Take a look at Athleta, Lucy, Zella at Nordstrom, Lululemon if you have a bigger budget. That is what all the moms are wearing at preschool drop off. Find some exercise pants that fit you nicely and then buy them in different patterns/colors. The tops depend on your figure. If you are curvier, you need looser ones that cover your butt (I need these). If you are really skinny you can get away with more fitted tops. (Not fair, but that's how it is). On days they want to look more put together, but not too put together (play group, music class etc), the moms wear jeans and a top and the addidas type shoes that have made a comeback or converse as another poster suggested. For a nicer look for fall days you put on some ankle boots, jeans, and a sweater. If you want to wear tanks with built in support, get a sweater like this to toss over it if you are going further than your mailbox: http://athleta.gap.com/browse/product.do?cid=1079107&pcid=1078932&vid=1&pid=228813082 or. http://shop.nordstrom.com/s/zella-hatha-cardigan/4412819?origin=category-personalizedsort&fashioncolor=GREY%20DARK%20HEATHER

I'm a WAHM and live in sweaters like those, fitted Ts, joggers or an athletic pant like some other examples on here. Op key is to get ready in the morning. It's very easy to get caught up in the day and all of a sudden its noon and you are in pajama pants and you have to run to the store so you just throw something together. When the opportunity arises in the morning for the shower, take it. You will feel better.

And 2-3 pairs of pants like this http://m.shop.nordstrom.com/s/zella-live-in-high-waist-leggings/4312529

(I would do black and one color)

Then go to target and buy 2-3 nude bras that fit right now that you can breastfeed in. Don't delay on this!

And some cute sneakers (low cut Chuck taylors).

Check out themomedit.com

You're welcome. Good luck!!!

Not snark. Real question. Do you wear the leggings and that shirt out of the house or is that your outfit for at home?

I'll be snarky. OP, definitely ignore that pp above. If you must wear those leggings out of the house (and I wouldn't) definitely do NOT wear them with those shirts or chuck taylors. FFS.

Im the previous poster with the madewell shirts. It's easy to shoot other people down, right? But it's much harder to give your own suggestions. This is actually a challenge to dress somewhat fashionably for taking care of several small children!

I'm anxious to know- what's an easy, machine washable, not crazy expensive SAHM uniform that can accommodate a postpartum pooch, breastfeeding, carrying infants and toddlers around, and lots of bending over and up and down from the floor? Include links.

Vest/scarf optional. Can swap out tall boots for booties or ballet flats. This takes absolutely no more time than putting on leggings an a baggy tshirt that would do no favors to your post partum pooch. I many many variations of this exact outfit.

Relax, one person suggested a polo, many people disagreed.

Not PP but I usually work from home and wear these exact pants and these exact t shirts ALL THE TIME. I often wear a black athletic tank under the tee for more support and coverage. Usually wear a sports bra. Usually wear sneakers or flip flops.

In the fall I wear tall camel flat Born boots or gray sweater material boots with sweaters or vests or long cardigans.

I'm tall, thin, have long straight blonde hair and wear light makeup and simple jewelry (pearl or diamond studs and pearl or diamond necklace) daily. It works. I dress up to go to the office, and when I am home dress clothes or jeans often feel like I'm wearing a starched straightjacket.

Yikes - I disagree! Why do you object so fervently? Does it offend you to see the vague shape of other women' bodies? Are you afraid your large adults sons will look at these moms? Are you jealous PP might look good? Your husband might think so too? And if PP looks chubby, why does that bother you?

I a dinosaur and I haven't worn a polo since the 80s!!!!

Hell no would this 47-year old woman ever wear a polo again.

I was in my teens in the era of Prep when I last sported one.

I'd feel like an old Lesbian at the Dinah Shore golf tournament in one.

Nobody wants to look at your crotch, no matter how skinny you are. And the PP said herself she has postpartum pooch and bends over a lot. The leggings are fine, with a different top and shoes. The top is fine, with different pants. But all that together? No. Unless you truly just don't care, but then why post here?

This sounds nice but does it get annoying to send out so much dry cleaning??
