White teen girls decked out in MAGA gear show up to Howard Univ to troll black students

Damn, they are HOT!

She said it didn't occur to her that people might be more sensitive about Trump after Charlottesville.

LOL!

"But I also feel like it shouldn't matter if it was a black school or not, especially since they were in Washington, DC.

Because DC is nothing but the national capital, not a place where real people (esp real black people) live their lives, and people there need to act as if they are the federal govt.

SMH.

So you can't visit a campus now, LOL.

I go to a campus 3 times a year to visit some relatives. We have eaten on campus too! Do you know how stupid you sound? The left needs to at least respect the president if not agree. Same when Obama was president. The real fools are the ones engaging them who made a big deal out of nothing.

I'm not sure what that means in English

These girls are nincompoops. It sounds like their teachers are too - apparently they weren't even aware of what HBCUs are. (No shock, I guess, that a Trump supporter would also be unaware of HBCUs.) I don't know how they didn't encounter a single adult chaperone who didn't explain to them why they could not wear those hats at HU.

And I'm sure now their love for Herr Trump has just grown and grown and grown. He'll probably invite them to the White House now. G_d save us from all these idiots.

To be fair, they are welcome to access a campus and wear MAGA hats. But it shows their stupidity and insensitivity to do so.

"Welcome" = not illegal to do it. But profoundly dumb unless you are trying to provoke a reaction, or are really just too stupid to know you will.

They're kids you idiot

The left knows no self control or personal responsibility so they say this was provoking or these girls wanted a reaction... Please, no grown man or woman should harass and steal from16 year old girls for wearing patriotic clothing. College campuses around the country are turning into safe spaces unless you support your president. Gonna be an interesting next 7.5 years

The two white students, from Union City High School in Pennsylvania, told BuzzFeed News they were among a group of 30 teenagers on an organized trip to see sites in Washington, DC, where the college is based. They arrived at the campus around lunchtime, and headed for the cafeteria with their school chaperones.

Allie Vandee, 16, was one of the students wearing a MAGA hat and a Trump T-shirt. She complained about the incident on Twitter soon after leaving campus.

Seriously, these kids are a bunch of trolls. Of course, they are now giving interviews on FoxNews about how they are victim-martyrs. GTFOH with this crap. Ugh.

Right. Now Howard has no go zones? Blacks only? Racists.

You do realize HCBU's were created because every other university in the U.S. wouldn't admit blacks, right?

Howard students are smart enough to know what #MAGA really means when my fellow whites hate it. The mistake these girls made is that they thought they were clever.

You are smart enough to know that Howard was started by a former white officer in the Union army who brought his volunteers from Maine to DC to fight in the first battle of Manassas.

I would say the idiot taking the hat off her head is the troll. A university is suppose to be about diversity and respecting other viewpoints. Clearly a bigger problem you're missing.

Oh please. These young women thought it was appropriate, a few days after Charlottesville, to show up to one of the most prominent HBCU's with Trump stuff on? They KNEW what they were doing and my only regret is that anyone even gave them the time of day. They wanted a reaction and they got one.

I would educate many of you on the unique role of HBCU's and why this was so insensitive, but I do not have the time and many of you do not give a damn anyways.

If that's truly what they were looking for then they were pretty stupid, but more stupid were the ones that gave them the attention. It's only insensitive to those that lost, and who foolishly equate racism with Trump. Sadly that's what the left is running on now looking toward 2020. The guy isn't a racist. A narcissist yes, white supremacist no.

Well, I am not too sure about that. Google some of the discrimination lawsuits against him in NYC.

But that is not even the issue here and and this to me is not about winning and losing or left and right. This was not an innocent gesture. It was irresponsible and mean spirited given that a woman was just killed marching against the White supremacy and the KKK and the POTUS fumbled his response. Too many of us have seen this type of intentional antagonism. No one can tell me that in this age of smart phones and Google at their fingertips, that these girls did not know what they were doing. They did what they did to piss people off and, unfortunately it worked. Now they want to claim to be victims. Do you remember when that young lady wore a Black Lives Matter shirt to a Trump rally during the campaign? They roughed her up and the first thing many people on DCUM said was that she intentionally antagonized them and what happened was expected. Same thing here.

To many PoC, DJT's campaign slogan, his paraphernalia (MAGA hats etc), his entire brand = racism, bigotry. Its pretty much synonymous with the confederate flag at this point. These girls knew this, and they are playing it up for the cameras (Fox News) and right wingers who take joy in make 'libs' angry or upset. And then they turn around and tell, say they are the victims of 'reverse racism' (doesn't exist) and then tell PoC how they should feel about it.

Its really sad TBH. The conservative agenda to preserve whiteness will be the end of us.

What would you do if they visited Brandeis?

Its named after a white man. What does that have to do with anything? You want to "take it back?"

What would *I* do? Nothing, because I am nowhere near Brandeis. I'm not doing anything now either, except opining on some internet message board while procrastinating on work.

I would expect that most students at Brandeis would shake their heads at what morons the girls are. Some would probably say something. But because Trump has more of a mixed bag and mixed support with Jews than with blacks, I would not take the hats to be quite as aggressive if they were worn on Brandeis' campus as they are when worn to Howard.

Agree completely. This could be a planned right wing influence operation, but I doubt it. That's a progressive tactic not commonly pursued by the right.

My son's white friend wore a Trump shirt to a predominantly white Arlington school and was met with pretty much the same response. It has nothing to do with them being white. They're as clueless as someone going to a wedding in a bikini, a funeral in a red dress, a KKK rally in a burka or to work in your nightclub clothes. It's legal, but insensitive and inappropriate and stupid not to expect some kind of negative response.

They were on a school trip- they were at Howard for lunch and said they had bought the hats that day. Maybe tone deaf but I don't think they were there to "start sh!t"- maybe they are from a place out of the area w lots of trump fans and don't understand the intolerance of D.C. Locals for alternative viewpoints. They are kids.
