Does MITHC include scenes from inside the death camps aimed at "humanizing" the Nazi guards and showing Jews dying? I'm pretty sure it does not. But this show does focus on the lives of enslaved people, which is a HUGE difference between the two concepts. |
MITHC definitely humanizes the Nazis. The entire story line of Obergruppenführer John Smith and his son? I think this will be amazing and can't wait to see it. |
| AA woman and completely offended by this show's concept. I don't care if they are bringing on AA writers (who should be ashamed of themselves). This feels like a fantasy world conjured up to either make AAs feel grateful for our current lives. I will acknowledge that I might be jumping to conclusions, but very offended by the concept as I know it. |
Were you offended at handmaiden's tale? Grateful for your current female life? |
Loved Mithc. Previous pp should just watch it and see. Some moments are easy to identify as despicable, some show how it's a terrible political game, and some show just how brainwashed/programmed the everyday people are to the nazi (and Japanese fascism) are. Side note if you've seen it, but staying away from spoilers: my favorite story line was John Smith actually. One of the best episodes of television was the last episode of season 1. The game that the four-or-so men were playing.... fascinating. And then I could almost see in s2, you could possibly question Smith's loyalty right? And then to see what he becomes in the last moment of s2! What will he do with his new power? |
| The apologists on the left continue to produce shows that are at best amusing and at worst, stupid. |

I don't think it will do well. People tune in to GoT because it is fantasy that we can get lost in. It is an escape from reality in alternate universe at a unknown time (is it the future? the past? the present?). It is literally an escape from our own f#cked up world.
The series will hit too close to home. It will not be an enjoyable watching experience, as it will remind us too much of the sh#t happening to our neighbors and fellow citizens. That's stressful, not an escape. |
There's a show on now about the Underground Railroad. It is a historical drama that depicts the horrors of slavery. Is this also supposed to just make AAs feel grateful for their current lives? I'm inclined to see at least the first 1-2 episodes of Confederate and see what it's like before making a judgment one way or the other. |
I kind of felt this way about Handmaid's Tale. It was sometimes hard to watch the terrible things done to control women and their sexuality, especially these days where it feels like we're just one judge away from reversing Roe v. Wade. That being said, I thought it was a very thought-provoking and interesting show, and was on the edge of my seat watching it. People watch different shows for different reasons - some for escapism, some to be challenged, whatever. |
That's what came to mind for me immediately- although I have never actually seen that show, just the ads |
| Highly recommend Underground Airlines, very thought provoking |
Well that was written by a woman, no? Are women's rights under siege right now in the same way AA rights are? Women being gunned down by police and voting rights denied? The way that I've heard of Confederate being pitched was "we've been thinking about this series for several years" which for two white men to say translates to "we've been dreaming of this alternate reality." Even if there is no nefarious motive, it's not a smart thought to share. |
| I dont u derstabd and why people are so sensitive to entertainment and fiction. Like wow, you mustn't have any real life problems if this is what bothers you. |
Go back to FoxNews so you can parrot more stupid crap. |
| I will watch as long as they are truthful that the bad guys(The South) were Dems all the way! |
