It's not dissimilar in concept to Man In The High Castle.
Does MITHC include scenes from inside the death camps aimed at "humanizing" the Nazi guards and showing Jews dying? I'm pretty sure it does not. But this show does focus on the lives of enslaved people, which is a HUGE difference between the two concepts.
MITHC definitely humanizes the Nazis. The entire story line of Obergruppenführer John Smith and his son? I think this will be amazing and can't wait to see it.
Loved Mithc. Previous pp should just watch it and see. Some moments are easy to identify as despicable, some show how it's a terrible political game, and some show just how brainwashed/programmed the everyday people are to the nazi (and Japanese fascism) are. Side note if you've seen it, but staying away from spoilers: my favorite story line was John Smith actually. One of the best episodes of television was the last episode of season 1. The game that the four-or-so men were playing.... fascinating. And then I could almost see in s2, you could possibly question Smith's loyalty right? And then to see what he becomes in the last moment of s2! What will he do with his new power?
